Making your own dryer sheets is a great way to keep your family away from the chemicals used in the commercial alternative. With so many allergies these days, the more you can stay away form synthetic ingredients, the better. To make this recipe you only need 2 ingredients, some cotton cloth and a glass container.

O….m….g….thank you for this idea! I keep forgetting to look up recommendations for home made dryer sheets! LOVE THIS!
About how many cotton cloths do you use for this?
Jennifer, it depends on what you use: some cloths are thicker, while others are thinner, and it also depends on how big your pieces are. Just add as many as the liquid will soak.
Can I ask what type of cotton cloths you use? I’d love to make these!
Gayle, the ones you see in the image were from the dollar store. you can use any cotton material: old tee-shirts, old pajamas or bed sheets, or, just buy something new: just make sure they are 100% cotton
Do these control static?
Chris, yes they do: just make sure you don’t over-dry your laundry and they7’l do a great job 🙂
do they work for static in clothing also?
Can you substitute something else for vinegar, I really don’t like the smell of it?
Are these just one use? Do you then wash them and make up more solution?
Kim, you can reuse them: I usually put them at the bottom of my jar and add more solution as needed.
I use white vinegar in the washing machine, but it does not control static. I am just curious the difference of using it in the dryer. Also have any of you experienced oily stains on your clothes from the essential oils? Have not tried this yet, but hoping to soon.
Do you use wool balls for drying? adding those to your drying cycle will help a lot! See this post about wool dryer balls: http://www.essentialoilsqueen.com/make-your-own-wool-dryer-balls/
thank you cool
Prefer dryer balls with a couple drops of essential oil.
Rheanna McCowan we talked about this except with purification.
Is there a specific dryer ball you use?
I ordered them from Amazon… You only need to use three and they last for a couple years…
